It was LeAnn’s idea and a good one: sit at our turquoise table at 2:45 p.m. and offer cold bottled water and bags of chips and crackers to the high school kids that stream down our street when school lets out. We wouldn’t put up a sign; we’d just be out there and try to get their attention, which is no small feat with kids who are awkward and hesitant and are prone to tune out the world with headphones. Worship, Learn, Give, Serve

For Wilshire Baptist Church

At Wilshire we are halfway through our “fAll In” emphasis that highlights the four key ways we are encouraged to participate in the life of the church: worship, learn, give and serve. We’ve had Promotion Sunday on August 19 and Generosity Sunday on August 26. Still to come is Service Sunday on September 2 and Worship Photo Sunday on September 9. Time Travels

I was visiting in a hospital room, and when I looked up at the clock on the wall I saw something unusual: the second hand jumped forward five seconds at a time while the minute and hour hands moved at their normal, almost imperceptible pace.
