The Intersection of Memory and Eternity

LeAnn and I have taken some memorable road trips together, and that was the case earlier this week as we made a 700-mile loop down through the heart of Texas, over to the southeastern-most corner of the state, and back up through the East Texas Piney Woods to home. We didn’t retrace our path at all — except briefly a couple of times when we missed a turn on the backroads — and the purpose of our trip was not sight-seeing or recreation but paying our respects and remembering.

To Backup or Delete?

Did you know that Thursday was World Backup Day – a day when everyone is urged to make backup copies of their important digital documents and photos? I didn’t know about it until I got an email from the maker of a device we have that lets you convert your old photographic slides and negatives into digital images to preserve and enjoy forever. Unless, of course, you fail to back them up and they are damaged or stolen or whatever.

Not Just On Sunday

In the midst of an ongoing text conversation during the first rounds of March Madness, my friend Gary noted that my Baylor Bears would be the first to play on that Saturday and his Houston Cougars would be first to play on Sunday. “Good thing it’s today for Baylor. Oh the quandary among the faithful if it was tomorrow, eh?”
